The capital of Slovakia, Bratislava lies on the river Danube, between Vienna and Budapest. Until 1918 was the city known under its German name – Pressburg, or its Hungarian one – Poszony. Bratislava was for over 200 years the coronation city of the Habsburg Kings, who were coronated in the Saint Martin’s Cathedral. Today, it is a charming, relatively small European capital city. Ideal for a prolonged weekend or a city trip.
